Monster High Ghoulia Yelps Doll – Is She A Nerd Or A Zombie ?

The Monster High Ghoulia Yelps Doll is a zombie disguised as a nerd or is it the other way round. She stands a bit awkward, has bad posture and wears dorky clothes. And she's quite brainy...or is that likes to eat brains, I can never remember. Ghoulia is the latest Monster High doll and a great item to get if you are collecting the dolls.

Ok, for the record, Ghoulia Yelps is not actually a zombie, more a daughter of zombies. I didn't know zombies could have children but you learn something knew everyday it seems (sometimes I even learn  2 new things a day).

Our sources have not yet ascertained whether the nerd look that she effects is to disguise her Zombie tendencies or if the two are just compatible. The first nerdy style you will notice is the horn rimmed glasses. This makes her look like a librarian from the 1950's or something like that. They form a great shield or mask for a face that is actually quite pretty.

Her skin color could best be described as a blue gray color and her hair is also blue and long. Another nerdy or geeky look is her red pants that look like corduroy. Her boots don't look nerdy but you can place her in an awkward looking pose that makes her look a bit more nerdy.

On this point the doll if fully articulated so that you can place her in the uncomfortable looking stance or make her walk like a zombie with stiff arms out in front of her (apparently that is a trait she inherited from her parents).

Another thing with the Monster High Ghoulia Yelps Doll is that you get a pet. This is the case for all Monster High dolls. Her pet is an Owl, called Sir Hoots-a-lot. Not sure what the connection of an Owl is to a Zombie. I think it is more of a reference to her intelligence and book wormish nature. Owls are common symbols for intelligence and being smart or clever (although I've never seen an Owl do a sudoku puzzle).

The doll is like the others in that it is 10.5 inches tall and comes with a pet, a hairbrush and a diary  which details Ghoulia's life and your thoughts and aspirations. When you read the diary you  get a better idea of how she thinks and this can make it easier to come up with play themes when you are playing with the dolls.
